The weather was great on Wednesday as the academy arrived in sunny Staffordshire to face Kidsgrove Athletic in the last League game of the season with 5th spot already confirmed for the Lilywhites academy

Mossley got off to a great start, having chance after chance but couldn't find the net. But, that was before a long ball saw tall Italian striker Antonio Din Chin take a touch past the defender and place the ball into the bottom right off the net, 1-0 Mossley.

The academy looked up for this game as all the 50/50 were won and tackles were flying in all over the pitch as the Lilywhites led 1-0 at half time after a great first half.

Second half began and Mossley pressured again and it should have been 2-0 when Prince Owusu hit the post but then the Lilywhites had to defend for a good 30 minutes as Kidsgrove put the pressure on and pressed hard for a goal. The Mossley back four had answers to every kidsgrove attack.

However, with five minutes to go Mossley made all their changes and from a corner Kidsgrove scrambled a goal over the line to make it 1-1 after Mossley Academy faught so hard to keep a clean sheet.

It was overall a good performance in the last game off season for the Lilywhites after an up and down first season.
